About this experience
The Kyoto Railway Museum offers an opportunity to experience Japan’s steps towards modernisation through its railway history in the city of Kyoto, where both tradition is valued and innovation continues. From steam locomotives to Shinkansen bullet trains, the museum houses 54 railway vehicles that make up an index of Japan’s modernisation efforts. The museum also features a giant diorama operated by an attendant, and showcases model trains that are about 1/80th the scale of the actual trains.

You may purchase directly at the steam locomotive boarding area. - You can use an internet-connected device to scan the QR codes in any exhibition room to see explanations in English, traditional Chinese, simplified Chinese, or Korean at no extra charge.
