About
VacoTours is two things at once, and it is worth being clear about both. It is a marketplace where travellers book tours, tickets and activities. It is also a distribution platform, where the operators who run those experiences publish them once and reach trade buyers through an API.
The two are the same system on purpose. Most of the friction in this industry comes from inventory living in more than one place: a calendar on the operator's wall, a spreadsheet for the agency, and a feed file for an OTA that was accurate last Tuesday. Everything that goes wrong downstream, from overselling to a family arriving for a tour that stopped running in March, traces back to that.
A single record for each product, modelled the way the industry's open standard models it: a product a traveller recognises, options that are separately bookable, and units that are priced seat classes. Availability is one counter, decremented the moment a seat is held anywhere. Prices are integers in one currency, converted for display and frozen onto each booking.
On top of that, 38 distinct product archetypes, each with its own setup flow, because a timed-entry museum ticket and a fourteen night overland journey are genuinely different commercial objects. What stays constant is how they are distributed: one contract covers all of them.
We list operators, not resellers. When a listing says the cancellation window is 48 hours, that is the operator's own term and it is what the system enforces, not marketing copy someone typed into a description field.
We also do not pad exchange rates. Prices are held in one currency and converted using rates refreshed hourly, and the rate applied to a booking is recorded on it so a receipt still reconciles months later.
Travellers who would rather book with the operator than with a reseller three steps removed. Operators who want distribution without handing over their calendar. And trade buyers who would like to integrate once and stop maintaining connections.
If you are one of those, start with listing your experience, requesting API access, or just browsing what is bookable.
