About this experience
Welcome to the oldest museum in the world. The Roman Empire Museum (Musei Capitolini) dates all the way back to 1471, making it the first art museum in history. Located at the summit of Capitoline Hill for almost 600 years, this gallery affords timeless views of the Eternal City, and is a fascinating window into thousands of years of Rome's history. Inside the museum, you'll see some incredible statues, sculptures, bronze work, and other artworks that have been collected since 1471.
