About this experience
Step behind the gates of a Yerevan icon and discover the soul of Armenian brandy at the legendary Noy Ararat Brandy-Wine Factory. Founded in 1877 within the historic Yerevan Fortress, this is a journey through 150 years of Armenian craftsmanship.
Before reaching the factory, begin with a spiritual and historical route to Echmiadzin Cathedral, the spiritual centre of the Armenian Apostolic Church and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then explore the impressive ruins of Zvartnots Temple, a 7th-century architectural marvel and another UNESCO-listed site.
Led by an expert local guide, continue to the Noy Ararat factory museum to hear the stories of the people who shaped Armenian brandy-making. Descend into the atmospheric ageing cellars, where oak barrels rest in cool darkness, and learn how local grapes are transformed into world-famous brandy, from distillation to the final bottle.
